The Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition (FSMP), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Sylvester Mantihal on his appointment as Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation).
The appointment is effective from 6 December 2025 until 5 December 2027.
This appointment reflects the faculty’s continued commitment to strengthening its research governance, enhancing innovation initiatives, and further positioning FSMP as a centre of excellence in food science and nutrition research.
With his academic experience, leadership capabilities, and strong engagement in research and innovation activities, Dr. Sylvester Mantihal is expected to play a key role in driving the faculty’s strategic research agenda, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations, and supporting the university’s aspiration towards impactful and sustainable innovation.
The Dean, management team, and the entire FSMP community extend their best wishes to Dr. Sylvester Mantihal in carrying out his new responsibilities and look forward to his continued contributions towards advancing research excellence and innovation within the faculty.
